**Students are presented with an interesting assignment at the start of the MVP engagement**, and they are then encouraged to try their best towards its solution. The students discover specific mathematical outcomes as their ideas develop and take shape. Once investigated, they become mathematical principles that the students accept as useful approaches to problem-solving and analysis.
